
In Phone Call With Biden, PM Modi Discusses Ukraine Peace Efforts, Safety Of Bangladesh's Hindus
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden held a telephonic conversation on Monday, discussing a wide range of burning issues, including peace efforts in war-ravaged Ukraine and the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh after a regime change there earlier this month. The two leaders also discussed ties between strategic allies India and the United States. In the phone call he received from Biden, PM Modi also discussed the situation in Bangladesh and the safety and security of the nation’s Bengali Hindu minorities. “We also discussed the situation in Bangladesh and stressed on the need for early restoration of normalcy, and ensuring the safety and security of minorities, especially Hindus, in Bangladesh,” he said.
